Tractor Run 2013

tractor run in BallynacallyA gala fundraising event in the form of a tractor run took place in Ballynacally on St. Patricks Day, Sunday the 17th of March 2013. It was very well supported with "86" registrations for tractors of all sizes, with and without cabs, their was even a JCB's. It was a wonderful site to see the fairgreen and surrounding roads crowded with tractors and people. The weather was good despite a little shower or two which did not dampen spirits and this event was again very professionally staged by members of the new development committee with lots of local help. There was a great sense of community spirit present with a lot of neighbours and friends meeting up for a chat. The route was from the community centre up the church road to Cranny village and left into Coolmeen where there was a welcome pit stop at the hilltop for refreshments, tea and biscuits laid on by more members of the committee with help from friends. The procession then made their way on to Kildysart and home to Ballynacally to complete the 18 mile round trip. A fine spread of sandwiches, cakes, tarts with tea and coffee was ready to greet the drivers in the community centre. A raffle for entrants also took place and many brought away a prize for their efforts. The sum of €2,040 was raised. View the event by clicking on the images in the sidebar

Thanks for the great support everyone, to the farming community who took part and the organising committee Francis, Aidan and Joe for their time and efforts in organising the event.

Successful Tractor Run: Once again a great event took place in Ballynacally village on Sun. last, St Patrick’s Day. There were 86 entries taken for tractors of all shapes makes & sizes. It was a wonderful site to see the fairgreen and village crowded with tractors & people. The weather held good with a large turnout once again of local support. Ballynacally Development Association would like to thank the organisers, Francis & Rose King , Aidan Kelly & Joe Kelly and all who made this event a huge success, also a big thank you to all the tractor owners who travelled  near and far and  gave of their time, to all who helped out on the day – the stewards & all who did a wonderful job with refreshments at pit stop on route at the Hilltop, Coolmeen and at the finish at the Community Centre Ballynacally.
